چکیده

This paper addresses the conditions underlying a realistic integration of Humanities in the training of doctors. By considering the progressive reduction of modern medicine to a merely quantitative and functionalist science as well as the ongoing anti-humanistic trend, we argue for a different way to conceptualize the insertion of Humanities in medicine. Specifically, if they are responsibly oriented toward the truth of the human condition and to its service, these can be valuable to improve both the approach to the patient and the clinical practice in general. The integration of Humanities from within medicine has to come on different levels so as to promote a new and genuine motivation.
